Agatha Reardon, Class XVII
Volunteer,
with daughter Kim Murry
"Leadership is an exceptional, challenging and fun program. I learned so much more about our community and developed lasting friendships with my amazing classmates—who would agree that Class XVII is the very best."
The Program
The class meets once monthly, all day, on the second Friday, February through October. Each session runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Each session is highly participatory, with class members working in both small and large groups. Class members are introduced to community leaders with different backgrounds offering diverse points of view. Members are taught to recognize their personal leadership style and practice leadership skills including public speaking, consensus building and critical thinking. Each class is encouraged to discuss divisive issues in a non-hostile, supportive environment.
